Om Miguel
I am a Mexican born American citizen living in Norwear and I've been exposed to many worlds and many cultures and different languages. I have a different way of seen the world than many people and so I'm able to draw from many different experiences when it comes to applying math and science to the world around us. After working with many After working with many different types of students, and also struggling myself with learning disabilities. I've developed personal methods that allow me to move forward when it comes to problem-solving and setting things up. I focus on the foundations and understanding of setting up problems and having students understand where the language of math comes from this allows them to gain a deeper understanding of of the topic, but also allows them to see the world in a different way.

After seeing my children, struggle in math, and also struggling as a middle school and high school student myself, I have come to the conclusion that math typically is not taught correctly, and that math should be treated as a language rather than a task that is simply repeated over and over again. If you can speak multiple languages, then why not add another language to your résumé. Math is the language of the universe and understanding how to properly set up a problem and how to develop a framework around problem-solving will typically get you 95% there. The rest is The rest is basic, arithmetic and persistence and practice.
The other thing that I believe scares, people is the language itself, and because many of the words that we use in math are either of Greek or Latin origin, having an understanding of where these words come from, allows you to then have a deeper understanding, and a deeper learning of math.
My hope is that by expressing to you., that math is something more than just trying to get through in school, do you have a better understanding of the world around you and be able to apply the skills of problem-solving as well as setting up solutions to bigger problems.
