Om Ruben
- Age: 30
- Birth place: Gendt (a small village close to Nijmegen, often mistaken for the city in Belgium)
- Hobbies: writing, hiking and most of all, drawing (I draw fictional cities in 2D)
- My personality in three words: responsible, empathetic, and creative
- Why teach Dutch to people in/from Norway? As I know what it is like to move to a new country, including the struggles of learning the language and trying to find your place in a new society, I would like to ease that process for people with similar ambitions
- Why am I qualified to teach Dutch? I was a teacher for over five years. At the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, I was teaching journalism and creative writing. Albeit to Dutch students, those courses focused largely on grammar too. Also, I have taught Dutch to expats and other newcomers for language school DutchReady.

Hi there, my name is Ruben. I'm a 30-year-old Dutch journalist and former university lecturer, based in Oslo.
Are you interested in kickstarting or improving your Dutch language skills? Whether you are new to Dutch and just like to impress your parents-in-law with more organic sentences than those from Duolingo, or you are a pro who is aiming to enter the Dutch job market, I'm more than happy to help with personalised lessons and coaching: from basic grammar exercises to discussing Dutch movies, everything is possible.
As I am new to Norway, my working language will be English (or Dutch of course). I am very flexible time-wise, since I work as a freelancer. And, I offer both online and on-site sessions.
