I am Agil Pirverdiyev, a FIDE Master and FIDE-certified coach from Baku, Azerbaijan. Fifteen years of teaching and more than 100 students, all of them online.
Rating 2411 classical, 2508 rapid. Under 16 World Champion in 2011, Under 14 European Champion, team silver medal at the Chess Olympiad. I also hold a FIDE arbiter title, with open tournament wins in Italy, Switzerland, France and Spain.
I work with adults whose rating has been flat for years, with juniors playing rated tournaments, and with children who have gone past the basics and need a proper method rather than more puzzles.

WHAT HAPPENS FIRST
Send me two or three of your recent games - a chess.com or Lichess link is enough - and one line about what frustrates you. I study them before we meet, so the first session is about your chess and not about introductions.
THE FIRST LESSON IS FREE, 30 MINUTES
I open your games and show the two or three habits that are costing you rating, then give a plan: what to fix, in what order, and roughly how long it takes. No obligation - the plan is yours whatever you decide.
INSIDE A LESSON
- One to one, online, on a shared board, using Zoom with chess.com or Lichess.
- We work from your own games, or from last week's task.
- At the moment the game turned I stop and ask what you saw. You do the calculating; I correct the method behind it.
- Each lesson ends with one specific task for the week, and the analysis is sent afterwards in writing.
ADULTS WHOSE RATING HAS STOPPED
You know theory, you play regularly, and nothing moves. It is almost never a knowledge gap - it is a short list of errors that keep coming back: rushing quiet positions, no plan once the opening ends, weak endgame technique, panic in sharp play. We name them and remove them one at a time.
JUNIORS AND CHILDREN
An opening repertoire that can be recalled with the clock running, targeted calculation work, and preparation before tournaments with honest analysis afterwards. For younger children we build the basics properly - board awareness, piece safety, and converting a won endgame - and parents get a short note after each lesson.
WHAT I WILL NOT PROMISE
No mastery in thirty hours. Before you pay for anything, I will tell you honestly what is realistic for your level and the time you can give.

The quality of his work is outstanding — even after just one or two lessons, we could already see improvement, and the motivation grows even more with each assignment he gives. Despite the distance between us, the online lessons work wonderfully. Agil always shares his screen, uses the camera, and explains everything clearly while working together on the chess board, which makes learning easy and effective.
I highly recommend chess teacher Agil to anyone looking for a dedicated, respectful, and highly experienced teacher for both children and adults. Although he is among the more expensive teachers, the value, care, and professionalism he brings are truly worth it. We are very grateful for his humility, dedication, and the positive influence he has had.
