Om Tanya

Do you use English at work, but sometimes struggle to say exactly what you want to say? Maybe you feel fine until you’re put on the spot in a meeting, have to give a presentation, speak to a client, or deal with an unexpected question.

I help professionals feel more comfortable and confident using English at work. That might mean speaking up more in meetings, preparing for a presentation or interview, improving your pronunciation, or simply being able to express yourself without overthinking every sentence.

I’m Tanya, a British Business English coach. I’m Cambridge CELTA qualified, have an Oxford TEFL qualification in Business English, and have been teaching online since 2011. Over the years, I’ve worked with professionals from all over the world and from many different industries.

I’m also the author of English ESL Small Talk and Find Your English Voice, along with accompanying workbooks that give learners plenty of practical ways to practise their English, particularly for situations they face at work. They reflect the way I teach: less worrying about perfect English and more focus on actually using it.

My lessons are relaxed and supportive, but I will challenge you. I want you to try things, make mistakes, take a few risks and use the English you already have rather than constantly worrying about getting everything right. That’s how confidence grows.

We’ll focus on you, your work and the situations where you actually need English. There’s no one-size-fits-all programme. For me, the goal isn’t perfect English. It’s helping you find your own English voice and feel confident enough to use it.

I specialise in helping professionals use English more confidently at work, but I also welcome adult learners who want to improve their spoken English, pronunciation and everyday fluency.

What I can help you with:

• 1-to-1 online Business English coaching (45 minutes)

• Meetings, presentations, interviews, negotiations and those everyday conversations at work that don’t always go the way you hoped

• Pronunciation, so you can speak more clearly and feel more confident about how you sound

• The vocabulary and expressions you actually need for your job and industry

• Speaking more spontaneously, without constantly stopping to search for the “right” word or worrying about making mistakes

• Building the confidence to speak up, take risks with your English and trust what you already know

Lessons take place on Microsoft Teams and are built around you, your work and the situations where you need English most.
