Om Soshia
I am currently studying Radiography but I have two master degrees in English literature and Ibsen Studies. I have specialization in new materialism and technoscience feminism. I started teaching English when I was 19. I have a bachelor degree in English language and Literature. I have been living in Norway since 2011. I moved to Norway from Iran to study Ibsen, the Norwegian playwright who is called the father of modern drama. I have been through a multicultural journey, which taught me how jazz-like language and Identity are and what a pliable form "self" has, opening its end, reshaping its boundaries and heritage to meet others halfway.

I focus on active language use, production and learner-oriented methodologies. I heavily rely on Karen Barad's intera-active pedagogy, which is a more common practice in Swedish pedagogy. The learner interacts and applies his pre-knowledge to produce/engage his/herself with a language. Language is not something to be prescribed to a learner, rather a learner performs the language. I usually focus on the art of phrasing questions, producing a summary, story-telling, using pictures and sketches, or simply the art of shifting from one state to another state. f. ex. from a sentence to a question, a noun to a noun phrase, or from a noun clause to a noun. I also believe when one teaches, the task at hand is to empower the learner rather than to provide the learner with prescriptions. Learner should perceive the grammar of a language as an open-ended knowledge and exercise his/her own power to perform the language in his/her own unique way. Language is dynamic and it needs to be actively and creatively practiced. The learner needs to be just engaged and know the rules of the game. I also like to use the actor-theory in my teaching, which simply means language is a space where the learner needs to exercise his/her power to produce. Accordingly, the key is to empower the learner and explain them power structures of the language and practices that construct significance.
