Om Erin
My name is Erin and I am from Scotland. I have been living in Oslo since 2020.
I hold an LLB (2015) and LLM in Human Rights (2017) from the University of Edinburgh, and an MPhil (Indigenous) (2023) from James Cook University (Queensland, Australia).
I have worked as researcher to Geoffrey Robertson KC at Doughty Street Chambers (2018-2019), researcher to Queensland Human Rights Commission in Australia (2017 and 2019) and founded the Global Advocacy Alliance (2024) as an international organisation here in Norway.
I have most recently (July, 2025) been invited by Professor Megan Davis to present my MPhil thesis at Harvard Law School. Alongside my NGO work I am completing my PhD (Indigenous) at the Indigenous Education and Research Centre (2025-2029).
I am extremely passionate about expanding and challenging our understanding of human rights, alongside how our justice systems respond to violence. I love to support students in understanding the UN international treaty framework and those taking on dissertations within the field of human rights/criminal justice and theory. I also love discussion of any kind, and tend to integrate that into my lessons on English comprehension.

I offer 30-120 minute tutoring sessions online. I am happy to be contacted for lessons in English comprehension (speaking and/or writing) and on legal (LLB/LLM) course content; assistance in essay writing; thesis planning and research skills.
I also offer 'check in' sessions with students who need support in managing their deadlines alongside anxiety and overwhelm with course work.
My sessions are offered to everyone, of any age, who wishes to study English or Law in English.
Please note that I conduct all of my tutoring as online classes via zoom, skype or teams; email exchange and voice calls as needed. I cannot currently conduct sessions in person.
