As Nicola Benedetti said, “there is no more valuable position than that of a music teacher” and Lucia truly fulfils this role. I first met her as an undergraduate vocal student in Dorset Opera’s Madama Butterfly and immediately felt a connection, which I believe is vital between teacher and student.

Lucia brings not only the experience of a professional singer but also a deep understanding of the demands of the voice and the industry. Lucia is the best singing teacher
I have had the honour and privilege of studying with during my twenty years of vocal studies. She is absolutely recommendable!

I got to know Lucia at the theatre in Magdeburg (Germany), where she had been a soloist for a long time. I was looking for a new teacher to start my career as an opera chorus singer and approached her. Lucia has been teaching me regularly since December 2019. She works with me on new arias, the continuous improvement of my singing technique, mental and physical approach to the work, prepares me for auditions and then evaluates them with me.

We mostly work online due to the distance. However, we have also enjoyed several on-site lessons with each other, which I also remember favourably and to which my assessments also apply. My experience with Lucia via Skype - as online video lessons - has been incredibly good. Lucia is extremely sensitive and has a keen ear and sense of what is happening on the other side of the internet line. Thanks to these skills and close communication with me, we manage to establish new technical challenges together bit by bit, recognise and eliminate bad habits and experience new singing horizons.

Her way of working is very detailed and meticulous. We work in small passages and very precisely. Lucia also introduced me to new working methods for developing an aria or a new piece, which I also use in my day-to-day work. She helped me enormously to expand my range of methods and learn how to use them.

I like Lucia's way of dealing with me: She is very empathetic, friendly and respectful. We work consistently and with concentration, often laugh together, make jokes and chat about things. It has a wonderful balance of fun and seriousness for me - I can learn very well that way! She also charges fair prices.

All in all, I can highly recommend Lucia as a singing teacher. She is truly a ‘super teacher’! I will certainly be working with Lucia as a vocal coach for many years to come.

Lucia teaches me private voice lessons. I've worked with her both online and in-person. I am a young, professional opera and concert singer.
