Om Racha
I am a 22 years old Lebanese student at UiS, and Arabic is my mother tongue. I've been given Arabic literature courses for the past 5 years to refugees in Lebanon, teaching them both oral and written Arabic, with a major emphasis on communication techniques. Also, I was the Editor of the Arts and Culture section in "Outlook" newspaper, a weekly university newspaper in Lebanon, where I used to write, review, edit and publish articles.
I have worked previously with both children and adults as a language teacher, so I know how to organize courses for all age categories, in order to make every session fun, engaging and beneficial in the same time. All my teaching experiences have provided me with teamwork, organization, communication and engaging skills, and I am constantly looking for more creative ways to improve teaching.

My teaching methodology is based on the following:
- Communication: emphasizes the student's ability to communicate various functions, such as asking and answering questions, making requests, describing, narrating and comparing. Major activities include composing a dialogue in which the participants negotiate when and where they are going to eat dinner, creating a story based on a series of pictures or comparing similarities and differences between two pictures.
- Audio-lingual: emphasizes on listening to some speeches, videos, music in Arabic as a way to make the course more fun and engaging. It also focuses on images as a way to remember some vocab words.
