Hi!
I'm Laura, nice to meet you! I have been intrigued by different languages and cultures ever since I can remember and I think they are a wonderful way to learn about the world, connect with people and expand our horizons, that's why I love teaching languages! It is a huge satisfaction lending a helping hand to someone who wants to not only learn a new language but to open themselves to a whole new world of rich cultures and idiosyncrasies. Everyone is welcome! I have experience with students ranging from 2 to 62 years old, both individually and in mixed-level groups, which has taught me to care for the individual's particular needs to reach their language learning goal no matter where they start from.
My lessons are usually one hour long and they are catered to the student's needs–such as revising for school, preparing for a certification, learning as a hobby, improving communication skills or expanding work horizons. Depending on the student's background, goals and preferences I use different tools such as role play, interactive games, music supported learning, mind maps, guided reading, etc.
I have a bachelor's degree in Translation and Interpreting in Spanish, English and French, a teaching certification, two years of experience as a language teacher specializing in preparing students for the Cambridge Assessment English exam as well as continued private tutoring experience.
Apart from my university degree, Spanish is my native language, I studied in Université François Rabelais in France where I obtained a C1 level certification in French and I will soon obtain my C2 certification in English.
