Om Ikern
I am a multilingual healthcare professional living in Oslo with a strong passion for languages and learning. I speak Spanish and Catalan as my native languages, and I have learned Norwegian, English and Russian through my own language journey.
My personal experience as a language learner has given me a deep understanding of the challenges students face: building confidence, overcoming frustration and finding effective ways to improve.
I have experience communicating with people from different backgrounds through my work in healthcare, where clear communication, patience and empathy are essential.
I believe that a good language teacher should not only provide knowledge, but also create a comfortable environment where students feel motivated to speak, make mistakes and progress.
My approach combines structured guidance with real-life communication, adapted materials and a focus on practical language use.

Have you ever studied a language for a long time but still felt nervous when speaking? I know that feeling because I have been there myself. Learning languages as an adult has taught me what really helps people improve: understandable input, meaningful conversations and enjoying the process.
My lessons (1h each) are based on helping you use the language naturally. Instead of focusing only on grammar rules, we will work with adapted materials, real conversations, videos, texts and situations from everyday life. My goal is for you to understand more, speak with more confidence and gradually become independent in your learning journey.
We can start with video calls here, but we will probably move to another platform quite soon, as this will allow us to make better use of the personalised materials I prepare for you.
I adapt every lesson to your level, interests and goals. Whether you want to travel, integrate into a new country, improve your communication skills or simply enjoy learning a new language, we will create a learning path that works for you.
I truly understand the challenges, frustrations and small victories that come with learning a language. I believe a good teacher should not only teach the language, but also guide you through the journey.
This course is not aimed at any specific age group. It is designed for anyone who loves languages, is interested in Spanish culture, and is motivated to start this learning journey.
