Scientific terms: Coaching unit, micro-cycle, meso-cycle, macro-cycle.
In coaching science, there is the adjustment phenomenon i.e. the gradual increase of load 2.5% for 4 weeks and body rehabilitation/restoration for 1 week with detoxification and hypo-maximal intensity in every meso-cycle in annual programming or macro-cycle (Elimination of an organism's toxicity from lactic acid and its derivatives).
If the overload continues without restoring the body (resting time/active or non) at the initial stage appears a phase of being "stuck" or feeling a "wall" (no progress of the athlete occurs). If the coach insists, the so-called burn-out phenomenon occurs (muscle sprains, psychological problems, constant fatigue, increased heart beat at rest etc.)
The science of coaching is associated with the exercise physiology and endocrinology to produce the desired results. (neuromuscular system 6 to 1 in rehabilitation, respiratory and circulatory system in homeostasis). The development age levels (6-8, 9-10,11-13, 14 -15, 16-18) and during the appropriate-age coaching based on the phenotype and genotype (protein diet-carbohydrates-fats, DNA i.e. heredity and fast twitch muscle fibers and slow-twitch contraction) plays a crucial role in the evolution and development of an athlete.
I am a Professional basketball coach from Greece and have a University degree in sports education with a specialization in basketball coaching. I have been working as a basketball coach in Greece for 12 years and the last 4-5 years I am working (100% Just basketball job) here in Norway, first with TNT Towers and now in EB-85, NTG and OIS (Oslo International School). I have been a coach for Region Øst at the SPU and NTC program (due to Corona there is no SPU at the moment) and the U16 Norwegian National Team.
